We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Gardener to join our Property & Maintenance Services team. This is more than a gardening role. You'll help maintain attractive, safe, and welcoming outdoor environments across our sites while supporting meaningful employment opportunities for people with disability.
About the Role
Working across Orana's metropolitan locations, you will be responsible for maintaining gardens, lawns, landscaped areas, and outdoor facilities to a high standard. You will also play an important role in mentoring and supporting employees with disability through gardening and grounds maintenance activities, helping them build confidence, practical skills, and workplace experience.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain gardens, lawns, landscaped areas, and outdoor environments across multiple sites
Perform mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, planting, mulching, fertilising, and irrigation maintenance
Operate and maintain gardening equipment and machinery safely
Conduct routine grounds inspections and identify maintenance requirements
Assist with landscaping and site improvement projects
Support and mentor employees with disability participating in gardening activities
Promote workplace safety and ensure compliance with WHS requirements
Contribute to creating inclusive and meaningful employment opportunities
Build positive relationships with staff, participants, contractors, and stakeholders
About You
You are a motivated and reliable gardening professional who takes pride in your work and enjoys making a positive contribution to the community.
Essential Requirements
Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens, Landscaping, or equivalent experience
Experience in gardening, landscaping, grounds maintenance, or property maintenance
Ability to safely operate gardening equipment and machinery
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently across multiple sites
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to supporting people with disability and inclusive employment
Current Driver's Licence
Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
Desirable
Experience working alongside people with disability
First Aid Certificate
Experience within a supported employment or disability services environment
MR Licence or experience operating small plant and equipment

Australian Drivers Licence
National Police Clearance
Working With Children Check
