Cafe and Events Manager

We're looking for a dynamic Café and Events Manager to oversee the success of our 1947 Coffee Co. café and a diverse program of community events. Combining hospitality leadership, business acumen, and community engagement, you'll drive performance, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and lead a passionate team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage café operations, gift store and events operations including rostering, inventory control, supplier management, and compliance with food safety and WHS requirements.

• Develop and implement annual and quarterly business plans aligned with organisational objectives.

• Translate business strategy into operational and sales plans and implementation.

• Lead sales management activities for functions, events, including enquiry management, pricing, packages, and conversion to bookings.

• Monitor financial performance, budgets, and cost controls to achieve revenue and profitability targets.

• Identify growth opportunities and implement initiatives to increase café trade, function bookings, and community patronage.

• Recruit, train, coach, and manage café and event staff to meet performance and service standards.

• Build and maintain strong customer, client, and community relationships and respond to feedback promptly and professionally.

About you

• Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent experience.

• RSA and Food Safety Certification.

• Demonstrated experience in hospitality or venue management, including cafés and/or functions and events.

• Proven capability in business planning, implementation, and sales management.

• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Sound knowledge of food safety, WHS, and relevant legislative requirements.

• Flexibility to work weekends and outside standard hours when required.

• National Police Check and pre-employment medical is mandatory.

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and deliver high-quality, sensitive customer service.
