Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Disability Support Worker role based in Docklands, VIC. The Disability Support Worker will provide direct support to people with disability in their daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, community access, and assistance with appointments. The role involves implementing person-centred support plans, promoting independence and choice, and documenting progress and incidents in line with NDIS and organizational requirements. The worker will collaborate with participants, families, and other professionals to ensure safe, respectful, and consistent support, while upholding safeguarding and quality standards. The position also includes participating in team meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality.
Qualifications
Experience as a Disability Support Worker or in similar support roles, with a strong understanding of person-centred practice.Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills to build trust, rapport, and effective relationships with participants and stakeholders.Knowledge of safeguarding principles, risk management, and compliance with NDIS Practice Standards and the NDIS Code of Conduct.Ability to provide basic technical support related to assistive technologies, digital record-keeping, and communication tools used in disability services.Relevant qualification in disability, community services, aged care, or a related field (e.g., Certificate III or IV) is highly desirable.Current First Aid and CPR certification, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and valid Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain).Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a commitment to integrity and continuous improvement.
