The Macquarie University Hospital Pharmacy is currently seeking a pharmacy assistant to serve in our small retail shop and provide RX in/out service, as well as assisting in the dispensary.

All applicants must be competent, professional and committed to providing a high standard to customer service. They will also have excellent communication skills, an ability to prioritise tasks and manage their time. They will be able to deal with patient needs in a sensitive manner and assist with stock management, including unpacking, merchandising, and shelf replenishment.

The successful candidate must possess and must be able to provide evidence of:

• Previous retail experience in pharmacy

• Experience with FRED Office, FRED POS

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Highly desirable attributes include:

• Experience with Fred Dispense

• Competent with patient counselling

Tasks will include but not limited to

• Ordering and receiving stock in the shop and dispensary

• Opening and closing of shop/till

• Counselling of patients

• Dispensing Scripts

• Management of claim and owing scripts

• Participation in regular education and training
