Experienced Travel Consultant – Travelport Galileo/Smartpoint

Kamals Travel & Tours Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Travel Consultant to join our growing travel agency in Footscray, Melbourne.

This is a part-time, on-site position with the possibility of additional hours as the business grows. The successful applicant will support international and domestic reservations, ticketing, customer service, quotations and travel sales.

Key responsibilities:

• Search, price and book domestic and international flights
• Create and manage PNRs using Travelport Galileo/Smartpoint
• Issue tickets and monitor ticketing deadlines
• Explain fares, baggage allowances and ticket conditions
• Manage ticket changes, reissues, refunds and schedule changes
• Prepare professional quotations and itineraries
• Respond to customer enquiries by phone, email and WhatsApp
• Follow up quotations and convert enquiries into bookings
• Assist with group travel and Umrah bookings
• Maintain accurate passenger, booking and payment records
• Help develop safe and accurate booking procedures

Required experience and skills:

• Previous experience as a travel consultant or reservations agent
• Strong practical knowledge of Travelport Galileo/Smartpoint
• International fares and ticketing experience
• Understanding of BSP and airline ticketing procedures
• Experience processing reissues, exchanges and refunds
• Excellent English communication and customer-service skills
• Strong attention to passenger names, dates and ticketing deadlines
• Ability to work from our Footscray office
• Honest, reliable and able to protect confidential customer information

Experience with African and Middle Eastern destinations, Umrah travel or relevant community languages would be an advantage.

Pay: $35–$45 per hour plus superannuation, depending on experience.

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to complete a practical Travelport/Smartpoint skills assessment. The successful applicant will commence with a three-month probation period.
