Our restaurant provides a diverse dining experience across breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering a broad menu that includes traditional Italian pasta and pizza, sharing plates, locally sourced meats, fresh seafood and desserts. The venue also provides catering and function facilities for a range of events and occasions.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our professional kitchen team at Slices Doreen VIC 3754.   Benefits As a full time Chef, you will play an important role in the preparation and delivery of high-quality meals and the efficient day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

You will work closely with management and other kitchen staff to maintain consistent standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and service. Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 per annum plus superannuation Task & responsibilities Your duties and responsibilities will include: Planning and developing menus in consultation with management and other kitchen personnel.

Preparing and cooking a wide variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and restaurant standards. Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation, cooking and presentation. Ensuring meals are prepared and presented consistently to the required quality and presentation standards.

Estimating food requirements, food costs and labour requirements for kitchen operations. Monitoring stock levels and ordering food, ingredients and other kitchen supplies as required. Inspecting the quality and freshness of ingredients and food products received from suppliers.

Managing appropriate storage, rotation and handling of food products to minimise wastage. Coordinating food preparation and cooking activities during service periods to ensure meals are delivered efficiently. Discussing food preparation and operational matters with management, kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel.

Preparing dishes to accommodate dietary requirements and customer requests where required. Demonstrating cooking techniques and providing guidance on food preparation and cooking procedures to kitchen staff. Assisting with the supervision and training of kitchen staff where required.

Maintaining appropriate portion control and assisting with food and menu costing. Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation and workplace health and safety requirements. Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen preparation areas, equipment and workstations.

Contributing ideas for new dishes, seasonal menus and improvements to existing menu offerings. Supporting the efficient operation of the kitchen and maintaining Slices’ standards of food quality and customer satisfaction. Qualification & experience

To be successful in this position, you will ideally possess: A relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery, Culinary Arts or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. At least 1 year of experience working as a Chef in a busy restaurant environment. Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and commercial kitchen operations.

Experience preparing a broad range of restaurant dishes, preferably including Italian and contemporary Australian cuisine. Experience working with pasta, pizza, meat, seafood and other restaurant menu items. Good understanding of menu planning, portion control, stock management and food costing.

Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure during busy restaurant service periods.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a kitchen team. Flexibility to work across a restaurant roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required. What
