The Department
Alfred Health Radiation Oncology (AHRO) is a unit of a comprehensive cancer service, with sites located at:
The service provides the full range of general radiation oncology and radiation therapy services in addition to some specialised services with both state and national significance.
The Role
The role of a Senior Radiation Therapist Educator is to facilitate, support, and advise on the educational development of learners (ie undergraduate students, graduates undertaking a supervised practice program) and qualified radiation therapy staff in the context of ensuring a high quality educational clinical learning community and environment at AHRO.
The incumbent will work closely with the Senior Radiation Therapist Educator at ARO to liaise, coordinate and collaborate on radiation therapy clinical education initiatives across both campuses, supporting a consistent and unified approach to education throughout the Alfred Health Radiation Oncology service. The role will also work closely with the cross-campus RT Manager/s, Senior RT group, departmental and hospital staff, units and universities, as appropriate and required.
The Senior Radiation Therapist Educator at GRO will provide leadership to the education activities at GRO, while maintaining strong communication and collaboration with the Senior Educator at ARO. Together, the Senior Educators will support the development, implementation and ongoing enhancement of clinical education, ensuring consistency of educational standards, processes and learner experiences across the service.
