MultiSkills Training is looking for an experienced Civil Construction & Earthmoving Trainer & Assessor to join our team, working primarily across our Werribee and Geelong training locations.

MultiSkills Training is an established Registered Training Organisation specialising in Civil Construction, Earthmoving and High Risk Work training. We also deliver Verification of Competency (VOC), employer-specific and bespoke training to industry clients across Victoria.

We're looking for someone with genuine civil construction experience who knows plant, understands what happens on site and can pass that knowledge on to others.

The Role

This is a hands-on role combining practical plant training with classroom-based training and assessment.

You'll primarily work across Werribee and Geelong, with some travel to employer sites for corporate and industry training.

We're particularly interested in experience operating and/or training on:

• Excavators

• Front End Loaders

• Backhoe Loaders

• Skid Steer Loaders

• Rollers

Experience in the following areas will also be highly regarded:

• Groundworks and drainage

• Plans, measurements and calculations

• Articulated and/or rigid haul trucks

• Dozers

• Graders

• Scrapers

• Crushers and screeners

You don't need to tick every box. We're looking for strong, current civil construction experience across multiple plant categories and the ability to develop others.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver practical and classroom-based Civil Construction and Earthmoving training

• Conduct competency-based assessments

• Provide students with a professional, supportive and industry-relevant training experience

• Maintain a safe and well-managed practical training environment

• Complete training and assessment records accurately and on time

• Conduct plant pre-starts and promptly report faults or maintenance requirements

• Maintain training plant, facilities and resources in a safe and serviceable condition

• Deliver training at employer sites when required

• Maintain your industry currency and vocational competency

• Work collaboratively as part of the wider MultiSkills Training team

What We're Looking For

You will ideally bring:

• Extensive and recent Civil Construction and Earthmoving experience

• Demonstrated competency across multiple items of earthmoving plant

• Strong knowledge of safe plant operation and civil construction practices

• The ability to communicate your knowledge clearly to others

• A professional, reliable and safety-focused approach

• Good organisational and administrative skills

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

• A current Australian driver's licence

• Australian working rights

• Eligibility to obtain the required Working with Children and Police Checks

Previous training and assessing experience is highly regarded, but industry credibility and practical capability are equally important to us.

Training & Assessment Qualifications

Ideally, you will already hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or recognised equivalent) together with the vocational competencies required for the units you deliver.

However, we know experienced Civil Construction and Earthmoving professionals don't always come to us as fully qualified trainers.

MultiSkills Training has an established pathway for developing experienced industry professionals into training and assessing roles. We may consider candidates who are currently completing their training and assessment qualifications, or experienced industry professionals who demonstrate the skills and aptitude to become effective trainers.

The level of development required will be considered against your industry experience, existing qualifications and our operational requirements.
