About the OrganisationBarton Gold is an ASX-listed Australian gold developer focused on advancing a portfolio of high-quality gold projects in South Australia. As they continue their investment and growth journey with the ambition of becoming South Australia's largest pure-play gold producer, they are expanding their finance capability and seeking a motivated Accountant to join the Adelaide-based team.
The OpportunityReporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this newly created role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and gain exposure to the financial operations of an ASX-listed resources company. It is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional looking to develop their career within a growing organisation.
As Accountant, you will work across a broad range of accounting responsibilities, including financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, taxation and process improvement, while helping build scalable finance systems to support the company's growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the preparation of annual and half-year financial statementsPrepare monthly management reports and variance analysisSupport the development and enhancement of accounting and financial reporting systemsAssist with annual budgeting, forecasting and reconciliation processesReconcile company bank accounts and manage banking relationshipsPrepare and lodge BAS and assist with FBT and income tax returnsManage accounts payable processes and purchase order reconciliationsProcess and administer monthly payroll accurately and on timeAssist with financial compliance and regulatory reporting requirementsProvide general administrative support and participate in ad hoc finance projects
About YouYou are a proactive and detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and taking ownership of your work. You are comfortable managing competing priorities and are eager to contribute to a collaborative and growing team.CA/CPA qualifiedPrevious accounting experience in a commercial environmentStrong technical accounting expertise across ERP systems, GL, and month‑end processesProven experience with statutory reporting, tax compliance and payrollExcellent organisational, analytical and communication skillsStrong communication skills and the ability to build trust with internal and external stakeholders
Highly RegardedExperience within the mining, resources or ASX-listed company environmentKnowledge of company reporting requirementsExposure to ASX Listing Rules and listed company compliance obligations
