Permanent Part-Time Disability Support Worker

Location: Moe, Victoria

Disability Connect Victoria is seeking a reliable and experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team in Moe on a permanent part-time basis.

This role involves supporting a participant with daily living activities while promoting their independence, choice and wellbeing. The successful applicant will need to be confident providing manual handling support and managing health-related needs in line with the participant’s individual support plans.

Regular Roster

• Thursday: 3:00 pm to 7:00 am, including a sleepover
• Saturday: 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
• Sunday: 7:00 am to 3:00 pm

Applicants must be available to work the regular roster listed above.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the participant with daily living activities
• Providing domestic assistance and meal preparation
• Completing manual handling using a hoist and sling
• Supporting diabetes management in line with management plans
• Supporting medication administration
• Monitoring and supporting asthma management
• Completing accurate progress notes and documentation
• Working collaboratively with the participant’s support team
• Providing sleepover support

A private vehicle is not required for this position.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Experience using hoists and slings
• Experience supporting people with diabetes
• Knowledge of asthma management
• Medication administration experience
• Safe manual handling skills
• Good cooking and household management skills
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to work as part of a team
• Initiative and the ability to work independently
• A person-centred and respectful approach

Mandatory Requirements

• Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or a related qualification
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Current Working with Children Check
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Evidence of Australian working rights
