Early Childhood Casual Service Cook

Jump Carey Early Development is a vibrant early childhood education and care Service provider located on the Carey Baptist College campus’ in Harrisdale and Forrestdale, Western Australia.  Jump exists to demonstrate the heart of God for families and children by providing exceptional educational and developmental Services to children 6 months to 12 years and their families. 

We are seeking a Casual Service cook to join our kitchen team who is passionate about providing nutritionally balanced and delicious meals for our children. 

This is a casual role working Monday to Friday between the time frame of 6.30am to 3.00pm. 

Your key priorities:

• Preparation of nutritionally balanced meals including, but not limited to, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. (150 - 200 children)      

• Contribute to the planning, creation and review of menus to include seasonally fresh market ingredients

• Ensure complete awareness of special dietary and allergen needs of children within the Centre

• Contribute to managing stock levels and ordering of stock, ensuring stock is of the highest quality

• Ensure the highest level of cleanliness, hygiene and safety standards at all times

• Work closely with Director regarding budgeting, administration, guidelines and regulations

Your skills and qualifications:

• Preferred but not essential - Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or relevant food handling certificates)

• Food Safety Supervisor Training

• A current Working with Children’s Check

• National Police Clearance

• Experience and passion for creating healthy children’s meals

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision

• Exceptional organisational, time management and record keeping skills

• Understand the health and safety guidelines to ensure your kitchen adheres to food preparation and servicing areas as specified in the National Quality Standards
