About the role
Brisbane Southside (Mackenzie) | 25–30 hours per week over 4–5 weekdays
Onsite position | Casual role with the opportunity for the hours and responsibilities to grow
About usFrequency Accounting & Business Solutions is a growing Brisbane-based accounting, bookkeeping and business advisory practice.
We work with clients across a diverse range of industries, providing bookkeeping, payroll, BAS, tax and business support services. Through our associated business, we also provide NDIS plan management services.
We are a small, friendly and professional team that values accuracy, initiative, open communication and genuinely helping our clients. We are looking for someone who wants to become a valued, long-term member of our team and grow with the business.
About the roleThis is a varied position that will initially be predominantly focused on bookkeeping and client compliance. There will also be opportunities to assist with—or take greater responsibility for—accounting and tax work, depending on your qualifications, experience and demonstrated capability.
We welcome applications from experienced bookkeepers, assistant accountants and qualified accountants who are comfortable remaining hands-on with day-to-day bookkeeping.
For an experienced accountant, there is scope for the position to develop into a broader accounting and tax role as our business continues to grow.
Your responsibilities may include:
Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
Completing bank, credit card, loan, clearing account and balance-sheet reconciliations
Processing and reviewing payroll and superannuation
Preparing and lodging BAS and IAS

Maintaining accurate records and meeting internal and statutory deadlines
Identifying opportunities to improve client processes and internal systems
Assisting with NDIS plan-management processing and administration when required
Supporting other team members during busy periods
The position will commence on a casual basis, working approximately 25–30 hours across four or five weekdays. There is potential for the hours and position to progress as the needs of the business grow.
This is an onsite, in-person position based in our Brisbane Southside office. Remote or work-from-home arrangements are not available for this role.
About youWe are looking for someone who is experienced, dependable, personable and comfortable taking ownership of their work.
Ideally, you will have:
Approximately five or more years of practical bookkeeping, accounting or public-practice experience
A relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification, such as a Certificate IV, Diploma or accounting degree
Strong practical bookkeeping and reconciliation skills
Experience preparing BAS, processing payroll and managing superannuation obligations
Strong working knowledge of Xero and cloud-based accounting systems
A sound understanding of GST and Australian compliance requirements
Experience preparing year-end workpapers, financial statements or tax returns, or a genuine interest in developing these skills
A high standard of spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and colleagues
The ability to prepare clear, accurate and professional emails, file notes and client correspondence
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to recognise when something does not look right
The confidence to investigate discrepancies, ask appropriate questions and follow matters through
The ability to organise your workload and work effectively without constant supervision
A proactive approach and willingness to contribute ideas
A friendly, professional and personable approach with clients and colleagues
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team
A genuine interest in finding a stable, long-term position
Experience with XERO, MYOB, Hubdoc, payroll systems
BAS Agent or Tax Agent registration would be an advantage but is not required. Experience with NDIS plan management would be helpful but is not essential.
Applicants must have the right to work in Australia and be able to attend the Brisbane Southside office for all rostered hours.
