Job Description

The Technical Engineering Lead is responsible for the Software Development Life Cycle and operations of these services. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of building technology applications, with experience in leading a software engineering team. You are responsible for owning and maintaining your services, while building out feature roadmaps for the services you own.

As the Lead in the team, you develop the best engineers to deliver services that are able to support the demands associated with the world’s leading cloud provider. You are able to work with stakeholders to develop and deliver on your feature and investment roadmap. You have excellent verbal and written skills and communicate effectively with technology and business oriented stakeholders - whether it is to communicate your team’s roadmap, having difficult trade off discussions or managing customer expectations.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience in a Team/ Technical Leadership role
• Experience building and maintaining real-world products using continuous integration/deployment
• 5+ years’ experience working with modern backend frameworks such as Django
• 5+ years experience software engineering using Python 
• Experience building and maintaining APIs via RESTful web services
• A track-record of creating and maintaining automated tests to build high-quality software (unit, acceptance and UI tests)

Qualifications

• Work experience as a director of engineering or in a similar senior-level position at an engineering department
• Hands-on experience in back-end and front-end development
• Good understanding of agile methodologies
• Leadership abilities with a strategic mind
