About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Welder / Fabricator to join our manufacturing team, producing high-quality heavy-duty bullbars, bumpers and associated products.
The successful applicant will be responsible for accurately fabricating products from engineering drawings, ensuring all welding and fabrication meets our required quality standards. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their workmanship, can work independently and understands the importance of accuracy, quality and productivity.
Key ResponsibilitiesRead and accurately interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
Measure, mark out and cut materials accurately to required specifications.
Fabricate heavy-duty truck bullbars, bumpers and associated components.
Perform MIG/TIG welding on aluminium and steel components as required.
Assemble components accurately prior to welding.
Ensure products are square, straight, aligned and fabricated to drawing specifications.
Grind, dress and finish welds to the required standard.
Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, welders, clamps and other fabrication equipment safely.
Check completed work for accuracy, quality and compliance with drawings.
Identify fabrication issues or discrepancies and communicate them to the Production Manager or Drafting/R&D team.
Minimise material wastage and use materials efficiently.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area.
Correctly use and maintain workshop equipment and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
Work as part of a production team to achieve daily and weekly manufacturing targets.
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
Ensure finished products meet the company's quality and presentation standards.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
Previous experience as a Welder / Fabricator, preferably in heavy fabrication or automotive manufacturing.
Experience fabricating bullbars, bumpers, truck accessories or similar products is highly desirable.
Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
Good knowledge of measurements, angles, dimensions and tolerances.
Competent MIG welding skills; TIG welding experience would be an advantage.
Experience working with both steel and aluminium.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good problem-solving and practical skills.
Ability to safely use workshop machinery and hand tools.
Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
