St Peter’s College is an Anglican boys’ school, offering an exceptional education to approximately 1,650 students from the Early Learning Centre through to Year 12. We also offer boarding facilities and our modern Boarding House provides a homely, safe and comfortable experience for about 100 boys from Years 7 to 12.

About the position:

St Peter’s College is seeking to appoint an experienced and passionate Head of Junior School Sport and WHPE to join the College in preparation for the 2027 School year.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the strategy, people, curriculum and operations of the Junior School Sport Program, while fostering a strong culture of sporting participation, athletic development and student wellbeing from Preschool to Year 6.

The purpose of this role is to:

• Deliver an exceptional Interschool Sport and Carnivals Program for students from Preschool to Year 6.
• Lead the development of a robust, engaging and contemporary WHPE curriculum across the Junior School.
• Foster a strong culture of athletic development, participation and sporting excellence.
• Lead and support the team of teachers, coaches and support staff to deliver the Junior School Sport Program, ensuring both the administrative and technical aspects of the program are effectively developed and managed.
• Manage the Junior School Sport budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
• Contribute as an active member of the Junior School Leadership Team, supporting the strategic direction of the Junior School.
• Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures and practices relating to Sport, Health, Physical Education and student wellbeing.

The Head of Junior School Sport and WHPE is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position, comprising:

• 0.5 FTE Head of Junior School Sport and WHPE, with release time to lead and manage the Sport and WHPE program; and
• 0.5 FTE teaching allocation within the Junior School.

This structure provides the successful candidate with dedicated leadership time while maintaining a strong connection to classroom teaching and the broader Junior School community.
