Production Manager

Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Competencies

Grade 12 Relevant tertiary qualification in Mining, Engineering, Production Management, or related technical field Blasting Certificate and/or Surface Mining Qualification will be advantageous Computer Literate - MS Office with advanced Excel experience mandatory Clear criminal record Minimum of 5 – 10 years’ experience in quarrying, mining, crushing and screening, or aggregate production. Minimum 3 years' management experience within a production environment. Proven experience managing production teams, mobile equipment, and fixed plant operations Experience with budget management and cost control Strong leadership and decision-making ability Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strategic and analytical thinking Problem-solving and conflict management Results driven with a strong focus on operational excellence Safety leadership and risk management Planning, organizing, and execution skills High level of accountability and integrity

Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)

Manage and optimise quarry production operations to achieve production and sales targets Lead and coordinate supervisors, operators, and production teams to ensure high performance and productivity Ensure compliance with all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) requirements Manage crushing, screening, processing, and load-out activities to maximize throughput Drive plant availability, equipment utilisation, and operational efficiency Monitor and control operational costs, including labour, fuel, maintenance, and contractor expenditure Ensure compliance with all mining, environmental, and regulatory requirements Manage contractors and service providers working on site Prepare and analyze production reports, budgets, forecasts, and operational performance metrics Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, quality, and cost reduction Build a high-performance culture through coaching, development, and accountability
