About The Role

Position

We are seeking a motivated, experienced and passionate individual to help drive and strengthen Council’s safety culture.

Reporting to Council’s Manager Engineering Works, this position will play a key role in supporting the delivery of essential civil infrastructure projects that benefit our community. As a Work Health and Safety Adviser, you will partner closely with Council's Civil Construction teams and corporate WHS team, providing practical WHS advice, coaching and support across a diverse range of civil construction, maintenance, drainage and infrastructure projects.

You will work collaboratively with leaders and employees to promote a positive safety culture, ensure legislative compliance, and drive continuous improvement in workplace health and safety outcomes.

To be successful you will bring

Behaviour that positively demonstrates Council’s values of creative, accessible, respect, energetic and safe.Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent), or a willingness to obtain.Demonstrated experience in WHS in the construction and maintenance industry, including conducting workplace inspections, investigations and safety audits.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of WHS policies, procedures, and safe systems of work.Proven sound working knowledge of WHS Act and Regulations and Codes of Practice.Proven communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.

The rewards
