About the role
Springbank Secondary College is a specialist basketball school in Pasadena, home to a purpose-built three-court basketball stadium shared with Basketball SA and the Sturt Sabres, alongside 10 acres of grounds, gardens and sporting facilities. The campus also features the Tower Arts Centre for performing arts, along with science, technology and design facilities -making it a vibrant, close-knit community with a strong sporting and creative identity. We are currently seeking an experienced Grounds Keeper to join our team!

We are seeking a passionate Grounds Person for a part-time contract (16 hours per week) for a short-term contract 26/08/2026 – 23/12/2026
What you will do:
Independently maintain sports grounds, gardens and irrigation systems to a high standard
Coordinate grounds maintenance, sports field preparation and waste management
Plan and manage maintenance schedules, and safely operate grounds keeping equipment and machinery
Oversee minor repairs, site security and asset maintenance in line with Work Health and Safety requirements
Maintain accurate maintenance records and provide guidance to staff within your area of expertise
Contribute to school culture by engaging students in grounds programs
What you will bring:
Demonstrated experience in grounds maintenance, sports field preparation, irrigation and garden care, gained through employment, sporting clubs or community organisations
Sound knowledge of turf and garden management, irrigation systems and the safe operation of machinery
Strong Work Health and Safety, environmental and grounds presentation standards, and the ability to work effectively in a team
