The Project

The Tram to Springvale Alliance (TSA) comprising CPB Contractors, BMD Constructions and Arup has been selected to deliver the Eastern Freeway Upgrades between Tram and Springvale roads. The major upgrade includes new express lanes, upgraded noise walls and revitalised sections of the Koonung Creek Linear Park. The Project is being delivered under an Alliance Contract with Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA) as the Project Owner and TSA (CPB, BMD and Arup) as the Non-owner Participants (NOPs). Together they form the Alliance working as one to deliver this critical infrastructure project. 

As a key component of the North East Link Program (NELP), this project will provide a safer, more efficient freeway connection for over 135,000 vehicles daily, removing 15,000 trucks from local roads, and reducing traffic across the arterial road network crossing the Yarra River by 50,000 vehicles per day.

Your opportunity 

• To support the Digital Engineering Team in achieving project digital deliverables.

Reporting to the Digital Engineer Manager, the Digital Engineer will sit within the project team and be accountable for:

• Responsible for DE/BIM Coordinator activities including the audit, review and co-ordination of model information for Alliance specific disciplines as defined within the Digital Engineering Management Plan.
• Implement the project-specific standards set by the Digital Engineering Manager and work with the Digital Engineering Manager to define the Digital Engineering Plan including any applicable protocols / manuals.
• Carry out model validation checks, coordination reviews and liaise with relevant Alliance members
• Support the deployment of field data management system, review validity of information collected against information deliverables.
• Ensure that data exchange protocols are adhered to by the project team and liaise with the Design team on compliance issues.
• Utilise a continuous improvement mindset and incorporate lessons learnt and improvements where appropriate throughout the project
• Complete weekly and monthly interdisciplinary and stakeholder coordination using the federated model
• Assist and support engineers with model-based design reviews
• Manage models through the CDE
• Model Management and coordinating administrative requirements for weekly deliverables

Our minimum requirements for this role are:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Digital Engineering related field
• Proficiency in engineering design, modelling and documentation software
• Working knowledge of International Standards such as ISO19650 and classification schemes and how they apply to DE delivery
• Proficient in Digital Engineering processes including data interoperability and information exchange
