Role Description The Quantitative Researcher role at SHO Data Systems is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Adelaide Area. In this role, you will design and implement quantitative research studies, build statistical and mathematical models, and analyze large datasets to support data-driven decisions. You will develop and test hypotheses, backtest strategies, and evaluate model performance, documenting methods and results clearly for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Daily work includes coding and data wrangling, preparing research reports and visualizations, and collaborating with colleagues in data engineering, product, and investment teams. You will also stay current with relevant academic literature and industry best practices to continuously improve research frameworks and tools.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Statistics and Mathematics, with the ability to apply these disciplines to real-world quantitative problems.Demonstrated experience in Quantitative Research and Quantitative Investing, including designing models and testing data-driven strategies.Advanced Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate findings clearly.Proficiency with programming languages commonly used in quantitative analysis (e.g., Python, R, or similar), and familiarity with data visualization tools.Bachelor’s or higher degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, or related discipline.Experience working with large datasets, databases, and data processing frameworks; understanding of data quality and governance principles.Ability to work on-site in the Greater Adelaide Area, collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams and managing multiple research projects.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to ethical, inclusive, and non-discriminatory research practices.
