About the RoleWe are looking for a skilled and experienced Environmental Consultant to join the D&C Storage team in Sydney. You will be responsible for providing environmental advice, supporting regulatory compliance, coordinating environmental testing and assessments, and developing and maintaining environmental management systems. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team environment and contribute to sustainable and environmentally responsible business practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement innovative solutions for complex environmental challenges while ensuring compliance with relevant environmental regulations.Support the development and implementation of environmentally responsible corporate policies aligned with applicable national standards and guidelines.Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve compliance with relevant environmental and safety standards.Provide expert guidance on regulatory requirements, environmental approvals, certification processes, and compliance obligations.Facilitate project approvals and assessments while ensuring activities comply with applicable environmental requirements.Coordinate and monitor environmental testing, sampling, inspections, and assessment activities.Promote steel recycling initiatives and contribute to strategies that support a circular economy and sustainable resource management.Develop and maintain environmental certification documents, compliance records, reports, and signage.Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of environmental management systems in accordance with ISO 14001.Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and compliance reviews and recommend appropriate corrective actions.Identify environmental risks associated with business operations and develop practical strategies to manage and minimise those risks.Prepare environmental reports, management plans, procedures, and other technical documentation.Monitor changes to environmental legislation, regulations, standards, and industry requirements and advise management accordingly.Work closely with management, operational teams, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to implement environmental improvement initiatives.Maintain accurate and up-to-date environmental records and documentation.
About YouBachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or a related field.Proven experience in environmental consulting, environmental management, compliance, or a related field.Experience in steel recycling, hazardous materials, waste management, or environmental compliance is highly regarded.Strong knowledge of Australian environmental regulations, legislation, standards, and compliance requirements.Experience in developing and implementing Environmental Management Systems (EMS).Knowledge and understanding of ISO 14001 requirements and environmental management principles.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex projects.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to prepare environmental reports, compliance documentation, certification documents, and management plans.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with clients, management, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.Strong attention to detail and commitment to environmental compliance and continuous improvement.Reliable, organised, and committed to full-time employment.
