ASCOT AIR FACILITIES PTY LTD The purpose of the Role is to ensure that sound engineering practices are adopted at a Site Based level to ensure all works are compliant, fit for purpose and compliant with all industry relevant AS/NZ Standards. The role will be a Site Based Engineer with a focus on ensuring assembly, commissioning and end user operation all align with the Specified Contract scope of works.
The role will include assembly work to be undertaken from time to time and provide on-site training to all staff. Interpretation of all Mechanical Drawings and providing clear and accurate mark-ups from which Workshop Drawings may be amended / detailed for Construction purposes. Benefits

Task & responsibilities Designs and analyses HVAC and mechanical services systems, performing engineering calculations for airflow, static pressure, equipment sizing, energy efficiency and system performance in accordance with Australian Standards.
Develops mechanical engineering specifications and approves design modifications for ductwork, fans, dampers, air handling units and associated plant to ensure compliance with project performance, safety and regulatory requirements. Interpret mechanical drawings and compared proposed ductwork routes with actual site conditions, using laser measurements and levels to plan safe, practical installation sequences. Install and coordinate round, rectangular, kitchen, ALP and plastic ductwork, including risers, subducts, transfers, fire dampers, motorised dampers, fans, silencers, grilles and associated supports.
Identify clashes with structural, electrical, hydraulic and other building services; prepare Bluebeam mark-ups and proposed routing or component changes for approval by the client's project manager. Prepare site sketches and AutoCAD modifications for replacement duct sections, transitions and other components where fabricated pieces are defective or do not suit site conditions. Coordinate daily work areas and installation activities for teams of duct installers, allocating tasks, explaining drawings, monitoring progress and inspecting workmanship.
Prepare material requests, coordinate delivery requirements and maintain site records including progress photographs, mark-ups, quality checks and defect lists. Participate in pre-starts, toolbox talks and site meetings and complete SWMS, JSA, Take 5 and permit requirements while operating EWP equipment and power tools. Assists with designs for mechanical equipment, components, products for manufacture, and plant and systems for construction Organises and manages Project Labour and the delivery of materials and equipment Establishes standards and policies for installation and monitors the ongoing Site
Works in accordance with Safety Regulations and AS/NZ Standards. Inspects installed plant to ensure optimum performance is achieved. Qualification & experience Relevant qualification at the level of a Bachelor’s degree or least 5 years of relevant work experience will substitute for formal qualifications Site based experience with HVAC Installation Teams HVAC Fit out and Refurbishment Project experience Proficient in interpreting Mechanical Plans Proficient in undertaking Site Measurements and providing design sketches Proficient in Managing Quality and Compliance
