About the Role

The role is responsible for supervising a specialised team that maintains medical equipment across Concord Repatriation General Hospital and Sydney Local Health District. The position provides leadership in the delivery of repair, testing, and preventative maintenance services in accordance with AS/NZS 3551, while providing biomedical engineering expertise and technical support to team members.

The position will coordinate and prioritise work within their area of responsibility, ensuring all maintenance activities and services are accurately documented and completed to required standards.

The role also supports workforce capability by providing and coordinating in-service training for Biomedical Engineering (BME) staff and clinical teams to promote the safe and effective use of medical equipment.

Ideal Candidate

• Possess an Associate Diploma or higher in Biomedical/Info-System/Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution. 
• Proven track record of experience in repair and maintenance of biomedical equipment in public healthcare. Knowledge of Australian Standards and practical experience in the implementation of AS3551.Possess experience in supporting clinical/ renal/ radiation oncology equipment. 
• Highly efficient time management and organisational skills with the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in an environment with competing, conflicting and changing priorities. 
• Has a current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable) or subject to obtaining a NSW Drivers Licence within 3 months of appointment.
