A.F. Gason Pty Ltd is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Production Operator to join our team at our Head Office site in Ararat. This is a great opportunity to be part of a long-standing regional manufacturer with strong values and a commitment to quality.

About the Role

Reporting to the Leading Hand, the Production Operator is responsible for carrying out daily production tasks safely, efficiently and to specification. Working within our factory production hours, you will be involved in assembly, material handling, tooling use and general production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete assigned shop paperwork and production tasks accurately.

• Collect and return required materials, tooling and equipment.

• Maintain tool kits and ensure equipment is used correctly and safely.

• Confirm required resources and training before commencing tasks.

• Assist in other production or maintenance areas as required.

• Correctly shut down machinery and work centres at the end of each shift.

• Maintain clean, safe and hazard-free work areas.

• Store components, materials and tooling in designated locations.

• Assess work quality against specifications and minimise waste.

• Wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety procedures.

• Perform other duties as directed.

About You

Experience:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

• Assembly experience and familiarity with hand and power tools.

Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and instructions.

• Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.

• Practical problem-solving skills.

• Commitment to safe work practices.

Desirable:

• Current forklift licence.
