About the role
When disasters strike, children are always the most vulnerable. That’s why 54 reasons stands ready to deploy, providing immediate psychosocial support and staying as long as it takes to help children and families recover from their losses, restore their lives and build their resilience for years to come. Our award-winning Journey of Hope (JoH) program works directly with children in schools, led by facilitators who are professionally trained in managing child trauma.
54 reasons is Australia’s leading child rights organisation – no ordinary not-for-profit.
Proudly part of the Save the Children Australia Group and global movement, we’re here to make sure that children and young people have their rights met and thrive, in all their diversity.
With the child’s voice at the centre, we provide quality services to children and their caregivers in every state and territory, and across regions, remote areas and capital cities. From our programs to our support services - this is the place to realise your purpose.

We are seeking casual group facilitators to deliver Journey of Hope as part of our Recovery response to the Bondi Terrorist attack Sunday December 15th, 2025. In these flexible casual roles till mid November 2026, you’ll work as part of our Journey of Hope team in Sydney to help us create lasting change for children everywhere. You’ll deliver engaging online and in-person sessions to young people aged 12-18, with flexible opportunities available from one day to multiple days per week. Sessions are generally delivered Monday to Friday, with some occasional evening work required.

A place to feel valued:

Finally, you’re an independent self-starter who is happy to work remotely when not delivering programs.
This role requires:
A place to belong:
