ESI Distribution Linesperson

About the role

DNL Electrical Services Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced ESI Distribution Linesperson to join our team in Sydney, NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in maintaining and installing electrical distribution infrastructure that powers communities across the region. As a Distribution Linesperson, you will be at the forefront of our operations, ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to customers whilst adhering to the highest safety and quality standards. This role is essential to supporting the continuity of power supply and the day-to-day operations of our business.

What you'll be doing

• Installing, maintaining and repairing electrical distribution lines and associated equipment in compliance with safety regulations and company standards

• Working at heights to perform line work, including the installation of poles, cross-arms, insulators, conductors and connection of customer installations

• Diagnosing faults on distribution networks and performing troubleshooting to restore power supply to affected areas

• Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance on distribution infrastructure to identify and rectify potential issues

• Operating specialised equipment and tools safely, including bucket trucks, tension stringing equipment and line testing devices

• Responding to emergency situations and outages with urgency to minimise customer impact and restore service

• Collaborating with team members and other trades to coordinate work activities on distribution projects

• Maintaining detailed records of work completed and reporting on job progress and safety observations

• Adhering to all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures, including the wearing of personal protective equipment

• Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and sharing knowledge with colleagues to enhance team performance

What we're looking for

Relevant qualifications and certification as a Distribution Linesperson or equivalent, with demonstrated competency in line work

• Minimum of 3–5 years' experience working in distribution line work or a related electrical trade in the power generation and distribution sector

• Proven ability to work safely at heights and in challenging environmental conditions with a strong commitment to health and safety practices

• Sound knowledge of electrical distribution systems, circuit protection devices and fault diagnosis techniques

• Competency in the use of specialised equipment including Insulated Elevated Work Platforms, tension stringing equipment and electrical testing devices

• A valid MR driver's licence and the ability to travel to various work sites across the Sydney region

• Excellent physical fitness and the capability to perform demanding manual work

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions and safety protocols precisely

• Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including shift work and emergency response situations as required
