Overview:The Consultant - Supply Chain is responsible for delivering high-level supply chain consulting services to TMX clients by analysing operations, identifying improvement opportunities, and designing tailored solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support strategic business goals. The role requires advanced analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills and contributes directly to the success of projects across various industries
Responsibilities:Analyse complex operational systems, processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies, constraints, risks and opportunities for improvement.Apply industrial engineering principles, quantitative analysis and modelling techniques to optimise operational performance, productivity, resource utilisation and cost efficiency.Design and develop improved operational processes, workflow solutions and facility configurations to enhance supply chain and logistics performance.Lead distribution centre design, warehouse optimisation and operational transformation projects, including the development of facility layouts, material flow designs and operating models.Conduct engineering assessments of warehouse automation technologies, including automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), conveyors, sortation systems and other material handling solutions.Develop capacity models, labour models, resource planning models and financial analyses to support engineering recommendations and operational decision-making.Prepare technical reports, engineering analyses, business cases and presentations outlining improvement opportunities, proposed solutions and implementation strategies.Facilitate workshops with clients and stakeholders to understand operational challenges, define requirements and translate business needs into practical engineering solutions.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including supply chain consultants, automation specialists, project managers and client stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.Apply structured problem-solving methodologies, continuous improvement techniques and data-driven analysis to improve industrial and supply chain processes.Support business development and grow existing client relationshipsEnsure all work is delivered in accordance with relevant safety, compliance, quality and professional standards.
Skills and experience:Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in industrial engineering, intralogistics, warehouse automation.Experience designing, optimising or delivering distribution centre solutions.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Industrial Engineering).Strong understanding of warehouse operations, automation and material handling systems.Experience developing business cases and supporting capital investment decisions.Strong analytical, modelling and problem-solving capability.Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.Proven project delivery and client management experience.Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp or similar design tools preferred.Knowledge of WMS platforms and warehouse technologies.
