About the role

Nova Star Early Education Centre is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) to join our team in Riverview, QLD. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young children's development and learning outcomes. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will create nurturing, stimulating environments that foster children's growth across all developmental domains whilst working collaboratively with families and educators.

What you'll be doing

1. Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate learning experiences based on children's interests, abilities and cultural backgrounds

2. Creating safe, inclusive and engaging learning environments that promote curiosity, creativity and exploration

3. Observing and assessing children's development and progress, documenting learning through portfolios and reports

4. Building positive relationships with children and families, fostering open communication and collaboration

5. Supporting children's emotional, social, physical and cognitive development through play-based learning

6. Implementing and adhering to health, safety, hygiene and duty of care standards and policies

7. Collaborating with colleagues and leadership to maintain a cohesive and supportive centre environment

8. Participating in professional development and maintaining current knowledge of early childhood education practices

9. Communicating regularly with families regarding children's progress, achievements and areas for development

What we're looking for

1. Recognised early childhood teaching qualification (Bachelor of Early Childhood or equivalent)

2. Current First Aid and CPR certification

3. Working with Children Check

4. Strong knowledge of child development and early childhood education approaches, including play-based learning

5. Excellent communication skills with children, families and team members from diverse backgrounds

6. Demonstrated ability to create inclusive, safe and stimulating learning environments

7. Patience, compassion and genuine passion for working with young children

8. Strong organisational and time management skills

9. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team

10. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in early childhood education
