As part of our Allied Health team, you will join a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment focused on helping people communicate, connect and live more independently. This opportunity is available on either a full-time or part-time basis and offers strong clinical support, professional development and flexible working arrangements. You will be supported to deliver evidence-based, person-centred therapy across homes, schools, workplaces, community settings and our hubs.
About the Role
As a SensesWA Occupational Therapist within our specialist Deafblind Services team, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services to children, adolescents and adults with disability and developmental needs, with opportunity and support to develop expertise in working with people experiencing combined vision and hearing loss.
SensesWA's Deafblind team is Australia's pre-eminent allied health service provider for people living with combined vision and hearing loss. We are seeking Occupational Therapists who are passionate about supporting participation, independence and quality of life, and who are interested in developing specialist skills within this highly rewarding and unique area of practice.
Working within a supportive transdisciplinary team, you will assess, plan and deliver person-centred interventions that help clients achieve meaningful goals across daily living, sensory processing, environmental adaptations, assistive technology, orientation and mobility support, communication access and community participation.
This in-clinic and community-based role offers variety, flexibility and the opportunity to grow your clinical skills within a collaborative allied health environment. You will have the flexibility to work across paediatric and adult caseloads, with opportunities to develop a specialist focus in deaf blindness and dual sensory loss. If you already have experience working with people with disability, sensory impairments or complex needs and are looking for further career development into a specialty field, this is a genuine opportunity to grow into a unique and highly regarded area of allied health.
