Disability Support Worker

We are looking to add to the team working with a person with disability. The right attitude is more important to us than qualifications. We can teach you the skills if you have the right attitude.

The disabled person requires 24/7 support and is living independently in their own home. Their home is located in Lalor - in between Lalor Station and Dalton Road.

We have a permanent part-time position available for either one or two workers. The open shifts are Monday 2pm - 10pm, Wednesday 2pm - 10pm and Saturday 2pm-10pm + sleepover. There will be opportunities to fill in other shifts. There may also be flexibility to work the Saturday shift/sleepover fortnightly. 

HERE ARE SOME OF THE ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Absolute integrity.
• Reliability.
• Patience.
• Ability to follow processes/instructions accurately and consistently.
• Good English skills (verbal, written and comprehension).
• Self-confidence.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Capacity to work a minimum of two of the listed shifts.

Note: Sleepovers are passive as the client sleeps from 9.30pm to 6.00am.

In return, you will get one-on-one training and will be paid award rates (SCHADS) and be part of a great team helping the person have a secure and fulfilling life.

Under the award you will also be entitled to all usual penalty rates and the equivalent of 4 or 5 weeks annual leave (pro-rata).
