The Opportunity
Veolia has an exciting opportunity for an Energy Services Technician – Electrical and Automation based at the University of the Sunshine Coast. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of Direct Digital Controls and Building Management Systems, supporting the delivery of safe, efficient, and cost-effective energy solutions across the site.

What you’ll be responsible for
BMS & Electrical Maintenance – Carry out planned and unplanned electrical and BMS servicing, maintenance, commissioning, fault finding and repairs across Chiller Plants, Air and Hydraulic Systems, Solar/PV, Metering and Unitary Air Conditioning systems
Building Systems Calibration – Perform all associated building systems calibration and ensure BMS and Solar performance is operating effectively and efficiently through preventative maintenance and monitoring
Compliance & Testing – Carry out site MSSB RCD Testing and site/office tools and equipment Test and Tag as required
Safety Leadership – Champion a strong safety culture through proactive leadership, identify and report site hazards (RIVOs), and ensure safe work practices are maintained at all times
Team Support & Training – Provide support, guidance and on-site training to other Technicians and Apprentices, and develop site apprentices through relevant work and knowledge
Planned & Reactive Maintenance – Complete planned maintenance to schedule and ensure responsive services are closed out promptly in accordance with contract KPIs
Administration – Complete all necessary paperwork related to work performed, participate in the call-out roster, attend Toolbox Talks and meetings as required
Quotations & Leads – Assist in quotations or quote works as required and identify leads for small service repairs
What you’ll need to be successful
Qualifications & Licensing – Trade qualification in Electrical Fitter Mechanic, current relevant Electrical QBCC Licence, and valid Driver's Licence
Technical Experience – Experience across all types of air-conditioning systems, from large commercial building to unitary package systems, with strong BMS and DDC knowledge
Computer Literacy – Proficiency with computers and smartphones, including the Google Office suite
Communication Skills – Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of numeracy
Safety Mindset – A genuine commitment to safety-first thinking and compliance with all safety policies and procedures
Personal Attributes – Strong customer service ethics, attention to detail, ability to work autonomously or within a team, and a drive to deliver high-quality work efficiently
