About Us
Darwin Ship Repair Pty Ltd (DSR) is a member of the Paspaley Pearls Group. With six dry repair berths and three wet berths, the DSR shipyard covers all facets of ship repair, engineering and maintenance and is Darwin’s leading provider.
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across our ship repair, maintenance, refit, and marine engineering services.
In this role, you will identify new business opportunities, develop strong industry relationships, lead tender and proposal submissions, and help expand our presence within the maritime and offshore sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Develop new business opportunities within the marine, Defence and offshore industries.
Build relationships with ship owners, operators, fleet managers, brokers, and industry partners.
Lead the preparation of tenders, proposals, and commercial submissions.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, procurement, and finance teams to develop project solutions and pricing.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging maritime technologies.
Support contract negotiations, project handovers, and ongoing client engagement.
Prepare sales forecasts, market analysis, and business development reports.
About You
Degree in Business, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years' experience in business development, commercial management, or project sales within the maritime, marine engineering, or ship repair industry.
Strong understanding of ship repair processes, marine engineering services, and maritime regulations.
Experience preparing technical and commercial tenders.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Knowledge of emerging maritime technologies and sustainability initiatives will be highly regarded.
