High School Maths and Science Position Starting Term 1 2027

About the role

Mount Barker Waldorf School is seeking a dedicated and experienced High School Teacher to teach Mathematics and Science (primarily Physics) from Term 1, 2027. This is a unique opportunity to work with adolescents at a pivotal stage of their development, guiding them not only in subject knowledge but also in critical thinking, curiosity, and self-discovery.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Mathematics and Science (primarily Physics) to high school students

• Guide students in subject knowledge, critical thinking, curiosity, and self-discovery

• Engage adolescents in Maths and Science through creativity, rigour, and imagination

• Apply Steiner pedagogy to support the healthy development of young people, or willingness to be mentored

• Collaborate with faculty in a collegial and dedicated environment

• Take a reflective approach to teaching and be open to new ideas

About you

• A passion for engaging adolescents in Maths and Science through creativity, rigour, and imagination

• An understanding of Steiner pedagogy and how it supports the healthy development of young people or willingness to be mentored

• A collaborative, flexible, and reflective approach to teaching

• An openness to new ideas and the ability to take initiative

• Experience in pastoral care or student wellbeing (desirable)

• Eligible for teacher registration in South Australia

• Valid WWCC and RRHAN-EC certificate

• Right to work in Australia
