About the role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Restoration Technician to join our growing team at Restorx Services in Launceston and Hobart, Tasmania. This is a full-time position based at our Launceston and Hobart TAS location. As a Restoration Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality restoration services to our clients, working on a variety of projects including water damage, fire damage, mould remediation and general property restoration. Your expertise and attention to detail will be instrumental in restoring properties and providing peace of mind to our customers during challenging times.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate damage to properties, identifying the scope of work and restoration requirements

• Perform restoration and remediation work using industry-standard equipment and techniques

• Operate and maintain specialist restoration equipment including dehumidifiers, air movers, cleaning systems and moisture detection devices

• Conduct water extraction, drying, cleaning and decontamination procedures

• Document work completed, including before-and-after photography and detailed reports

• Communicate professionally with clients, providing updates on restoration progress and timelines

• Follow all health, safety and environmental regulations and company protocols

• Transport equipment and materials to job sites safely and efficiently

• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition

• Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects on schedule and to the highest standard

What we're looking for

• Relevant qualification or certification in restoration, remediation or a related trade (desirable but not essential for the right candidate)

• Proven experience working as a restoration technician, or in a similar technical field

• Strong knowledge of water damage, fire damage, mould remediation and general restoration processes

• Proficiency in operating restoration equipment and moisture detection technology

• Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to various job sites across the Launceston and Hobart area

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour and lift heavy equipment

• Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to different restoration scenarios

• Health and safety awareness with willingness to follow strict protocols
