Truck/Trailer Body Builder

About the role

Vehicle Body Builder role involving manufacturing and repairing truck bodies and trailers using metal, fiberglass and other materials, and assembling components to create finished vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacturing truck bodies using metal, fiberglass and other materials using welding equipment, guillotine and other hand tools

• Riveting and welding sections together to form truck bodies and parts necessary

• Installing parts in the internal of trucks such as switches and dash lights

• Attaching toolboxes and wheel lifts to the subframe of trucks

• Repair damages to metal using welding equipment

• Interpret engineered drawings to manufacture steel bodies

• Grinding of steel to clean up welds

• Installing rubber seals, locks and handles on toolboxes

About you

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a welder

• Experience in the operation of MIG, Oxy, Plasma cutter, hand and power tools

• Qualified welder/boiler maker would be advantageous but not necessary

• Good work ethic

• Punctual attendance

• Reliable

• Takes pride in their work

• Works well in a team with effective communication skills
