Aston & Stone is partnering with a well-respected mid-tier accounting practice in Perth to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Business Services and Tax team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced public practice Accountant looking to join an established firm with a strong reputation, quality client base and genuine opportunity for continued career development.
You will work across a diverse portfolio of clients, providing a broad range of accounting, taxation and business services while developing strong client relationships and providing valuable commercial support.
The RoleWorking closely with Managers and Partners, your responsibilities will include:Preparation and review of financial statements for companies, trusts and other entitiesPreparation of income tax returns across a range of entity structuresPreparation and review of BAS and other statutory compliance requirementsManaging Australian tax and business services matters for a portfolio of clientsProviding advice across general taxation, GST and compliance mattersPreparing and reviewing reconciliations and supporting workpapersManaging client deadlines and ensuring work is delivered accurately and efficientlyLiaising directly with clients regarding accounting and taxation mattersIdentifying opportunities to provide additional value and advisory support to clientsAssisting with tax planning and year-end mattersWorking closely with Managers and Partners on more complex client assignmentsSupporting and assisting junior members of the accounting team where required
About YouTo be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:5+ years’ Australian tax and business services experience within an accounting practiceStrong knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting requirementsExperience preparing financial statements and tax returnsStrong experience working with companies and trustsExperience across tax compliance, BAS and GSTThe confidence to communicate directly with clientsStrong technical accounting and taxation skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlinesA professional and commercially minded approach to client service
CA or CPA qualification, or progression towards qualification, will be highly regarded.
