About the Role

Applying your knowledge and capability to enhance the performance of the sugar mill in key areas such as:

• Performing machining, fitting, and maintenance activities on rotating and fixed plan equipment

• Manufacture, repair, and modify components using conventional machining equipment.

• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out corrective repairs.

• Participate in planned shutdowns and maintenance programs.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.

• Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.

• Work collaboratively with Operations and Maintenance personnel.

You will be part of the high performing Mechanical Engineering team

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• You are a qualified Certificate III Mechanical Fitter & Turner, Machinist, or equivalent Mechanical Trade.

• You can demonstrate experience in machining and general mechanical maintenance.

• You have the ability to operate conventional lathes, milling machines, and other workshop equipment.

• You possess strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

• You have good communication and teamwork skills

• You have sound planning and organisational abilities

• Safety is at the core of everything you do

• Experience within heavy industry, manufacturing, sugar milling, mining, or similar industries will be highly regarded.

• You will operate in accordance with Tully Sugar’s Values and Behaviours

• You are a mentor to provide trade guidance to Mechanical Apprentices
