About the role

The Goodsmiths is searching for a Wedding Planner to join our Planning Team to curate and plan truly unforgettable events. Working with a range of client types and event spaces across Melbourne, this is an opportunity of a lifetime to not only plan incredible events and work closely with clients to bring their vision to life, but to join a hospitality company who are innovative, dynamic and truly care about our people! Join forces with some of the industry's finest florists, creatives and, of course, planners to collaborate on the client journey and deliver an experience they’ll never forget. 

To work in events, you have to be able to thrive in a bit of chaos, perform under pressure and above all, put the client's needs first. After all, we are planning and delivering one of the most important days of people's lives! If you don’t dream of being JLO in The Wedding Planner with a headset on, running around organising people for the greater good of love, this probably isn’t the role for you!

Wedding Planners at Nudo uphold our company value of ‘Experience above all else’ as the leaders of the clients journey and always looking for ways to surprise and delight. They are responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the clients journey are flawless, from the first Meet & Greet meeting to leading the delivery of the event on the day. 

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Effectively manage a portfolio of clients by building strong relationships, staying on top of each stage of the planning process, regularly communicating with clients and always managing expectations

• Lead the event planning process by understanding the clients vision, meeting with clients throughout their journey, booking vendors and suppliers as needed, writing and communicating flawless run sheets and floorplans, update budgets and ensure all billing and payments are organised and seeing the planning through to delivery 

• Collaborate with other departments throughout the client journey to ensure everything is on track, understand Nudo’s services and products to upsell clients throughout their wedding journey and help solve issues before they emerge

• Communicate venue and catering related information to clients and work with our operations and kitchen teams to ensure a smooth event execution

• Understand and adhere to margins to ensure your event is profitable

• Ensure all administration processes are completed on time and to a high quality

• Support the planning department by identifying continuous improvement opportunities

• Be a big embracer of change, open to working with a fast-evolving company and ready to take on new challenges

What experience you will need to smash this role

• 1-2 years of experience in a planning role

• Experience working as part of a team and collaborating with internal stakeholders

• Experience working with external suppliers or vendors 

• Previous hospitality experience (desired) 

• Experience in the events/wedding industry (desired)

• Experience working within a fast-paced environment and confidence with making and prioritising quick decisions.

Qualifications, licenses or other requirements

• Must be available to work occasional nights and weekends as required by the roster;

• Valid Victorian Drivers license and ability to get around town in their own car;

• Candidates are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19;
