The Fish Factory is excited to announce a job opportunity for a Marketing Assistant to join our team! Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this role will see the successful candidate become an integral part of our marketing division. Assisting the Marketing Manager in a generalist scope, the Marketing Assistant will be responsible for strategic execution, digital and online marketing, content creation and bringing wider marketing campaigns to life! Focussing on The Fish Factory Australia brand, the role will give the successful applicant a broad scope of experience, touching all aspects of the marketing life cycle.

Your role

Operating on a full-time or part-time basis, the role is built to assist the Marketing Manager by being a support network here at our Brisbane base. The successful candidate will bring strong marketing theory to the table, along with a keen eye for content creation and high levels of creativity. Understanding the importance of marketing within a dynamic business, you will be easily approachable, bringing ideas to the table and executing instruction with attention to detail. Having a large focus on brand image, content creation and maintaining a social media presence, the Marketing Assistant will be solely responsible for the running and maintenance of our social media. This role will take an active part in work on campaigns, events, activations, trade-shows, and a variety of other ad-hoc marketing functions. For the right candidate, the role offers the ability to become autonomous, as we seek someone who ‘makes the role their own’.

Key responsibilities include:

·         Create, design, edit, plan, execute and monitor social media content (digital marketing) across all platforms and our website, ensuring regular content variation, audience engagement and brand consistency.

·         Design and execute posters, graphics and hard-copy marketing materials, including preparation of artwork for print and delivery of scheduled physical marketing initiatives.

·         Support the planning and execution of marketing events, campaigns and brand activations, including administration, bookings, communications, run-sheets, promotional materials and on-the-day coordination.

·         Maintain and actively manage the marketing calendar, ensuring marketing activities are planned in advance, kept up to date and executed in line with business priorities and deadlines.

·         Execute weekly EDM campaigns (typically 1–2 per week), including content preparation, design, approvals, scheduling and basic performance reporting.

·         Support the development and preparation of advertising and marketing materials for the export division, including early-stage creative development and coordination of approvals.

·         Provide ongoing marketing administration, coordination and support across all marketing activities to ensure consistency, efficiency and timely delivery of marketing outputs.

Experience, qualifications & personal attributes

Essential:

1.         Foundational understanding of marketing theory, and/or tertiary education in Marketing.

2.         A creative personality that constantly things outside-the-box.

3.         Ability to take on responsibility and operate in a professional, corporate manner.

4.         Strong ability to work under pressure and keep to strict deadlines.

5.         Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

6.         Willingness to learn.

Desirable

1.     Previous experience in a marketing role, or similar.

2.     A sound understanding of hospitality, food-service or seafood.
