Product Design Lead

You'll love this role if you enjoy solving real customer problems and care just as much about how something works as how it looks. This is a hands-on design role where you'll help shape the experiences our customers use across our website, app, quote process and customer portal.

You'll spend your time working closely with product managers, developers and stakeholders to turn ideas into practical, intuitive experiences that balance customer needs, business goals and technical realities. Some days you'll be refining a customer journey or designing new components for our design system. Other days you'll be collaborating with engineers, presenting concepts, providing feedback to other designers or helping guide decisions on how our digital experiences evolve.

There's a lot of autonomy in this role, but you're not on your own. You'll work alongside an experienced Product Design Manager and a close-knit team that values good design, honest feedback and delivering work we're proud of. If you're someone who enjoys influencing outcomes, improving how things are done and seeing your work come to life across multiple digital channels, you'll find plenty to get stuck into here. 

What you'll be doing 

• Designing customer-facing experiences across web and digital products, from early concepts through to delivery 
• Creating wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs in Figma 
• Maintaining and evolving Youi's design system, including new components, patterns and standards 
• Working closely with developers to ensure designs are technically achievable and delivered as intended 
• Partnering with product managers and stakeholders to solve customer and business problems 
• Providing guidance, feedback and mentorship to other designers while helping lift design capability across the team 

• Designing customer experiences that are intuitive, polished and grounded in real customer needs  
• Using your strong UX and UI capability to take ideas from concepts and wireframes through to high-fidelity designs and delivery  
• Confidently working in Figma, including contributing to and evolving design systems and component libraries  
• Building trusted relationships with product managers, developers and stakeholders, balancing customer outcomes with business and technical requirements  
• Applying sound judgement and working autonomously, while staying open to feedback and sharing knowledge with others  
• Raising the bar for design quality through thoughtful problem solving, clear communication and mentorship of other designers
