Assistant Accountant/Finance Team Member

About the role

This is a hands-on role within a busy finance function, with responsibility for a broad range of accounting, reconciliation, reporting and finance administration activities across golf, gaming, events and hospitality operations. The role will work closely with the Finance team and operational managers.

Key responsibilities

• Daily and weekly banking and reconciliation activities

• Gaming reconciliations, including daily and clearance reconciliations

• Gaming journals and month-end gaming reporting

• Cash, gaming drawer and CRT reconciliations

• Investigating and resolving variances and discrepancies

• Monitoring and following up outstanding debtors

• Accounts payable and invoice processing

• Balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance

• Month-end accounting and reporting

• Maintaining and updating finance spreadsheets and reporting tools

About you

• Has experience in an accounting or finance role

• Is highly organised and has excellent attention to detail

• Is comfortable working with reconciliations and investigating variances

• Has strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems such as Xero

• Can work independently and take ownership of their responsibilities

• Is practical and commercially minded

• Communicates well with both finance and operational teams

• Is reliable and takes pride in producing accurate work

• Is willing to pitch in and help the broader team when required

• Formal accounting qualifications are desirable, but experience, capability and attitude are more important
