About the role
We currently have an opportunity for a hard working, reliable Electrician to join our Engineering Department based in Port Douglas.
This is a full-time position offering an attractive roster of four days on and three days off. During scheduled boat refit periods, a fifth workday may be required. The role involves minimal weekend work and limited after-hours callouts.
The position is primarily based in Port Douglas, with occasional travel to Cairns during refits. Travel to and from Cairns is provided during work hours.
The role focuses on the maintenance of the Quicksilver fleet, including vessels, pontoons and land-based infrastructure. This hands-on position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance.
Reporting to the Engineering Workshop Manager your key responsibilities will include:
Carry out routine electrical maintenance and repairs on vessels and facilities
Support the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems, including switchboards, lighting, batteries and generators
Ensure compliance with relevant electrical and marine safety standards
Assist with refit and upgrade projects as required
Work collaboratively with marine engineers and operations teams
About you
We are looking for candidates with:
A current QLD Electrical Licence
Experience with marine electrical systems (preferred, but not essential)
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
A commitment to safety, quality workmanship and teamwork
Strong organisational and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or public holidays
