Principal Bridge Design Engineer

How you’ll make a difference

• Act as Technical Lead / Design Authority for major bridge projects.

• Lead delivery of complex bridge solutions, including:

  • Major river crossings and long‑span structures

  • Freight, rail, and heavy‑haul infrastructure

• Provide high‑level technical review, design certification, and risk management.

• Lead and oversee compliance with AS 5100, Austroads, MRWA, and project‑specific requirements.

• Support bids, tenders, and proposals, including methodology, resourcing, and fee inputs.

• Build and maintain strong client relationships.

• Mentor senior and emerging engineers and contribute to capability development.

• Represent the business at client meetings and industry forums.
  

Qualifications

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.

• 15+ years’ experience in bridge and major infrastructure design.

• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) – Engineers Australia.

• Demonstrated experience working with Main Roads WA projects and standards.

• Proven track record leading multidisciplinary design teams in a consultancy environment.

• Strong commercial awareness and client‑facing capability.

• Ability to provide clear technical direction and professional judgement.
