Internal Dispute Resolution Specialist

• 12-month fixed term contract or permanent position in a leading Trans-Tasman Insurer

We're seeking an Internal Dispute Resolution Specialist to join our Internal Dispute Resolution team, resolving complex customer complaints across our General Insurance business. In this role, you'll investigate complaints, assess information objectively and deliver fair, reasonable and sustainable outcomes. 

You'll play a key role in ensuring customers receive a transparent, timely and effective complaints experience while meeting regulatory and compliance obligations.

What you'll do

• Manage complex complaints from investigation through to resolution.
• Determine fair and reasonable outcomes by objectively assessing all available information.
• Prepare clear, well-reasoned written responses and confidently communicate decisions to customers.
• Interpret policy coverage and apply appropriate discretion when making decisions.
• Ensure compliance with RG271, the General Insurance Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
• Identify emerging trends and opportunities to improve customer and business outcomes.
• Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

What you'll bring

• Experience in insurance, claims, complaints or dispute resolution.
• Strong analytical, investigative and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to navigate complex and sensitive customer matters with professionalism and empathy.
• Sound knowledge of insurance products, processes and regulatory requirements.
