Graduate Clinical Coder

Reporting to the Health Information Services Manager and working within a supportive team environment, this position will play a pivotal role in undertaking accurate, comprehensive, and timely clinical coding for the Hospital.

Your Key Skills and Experience

• Possess a recognised clinical coding qualification – HIMAA, tertiary HIM qualification, or equivalent
• Recent experience in clinical coding or new graduates welcome to apply 
• Have knowledge of Australian Revised Diagnostic Related Groups (AR-DRG) and private health funding models
• Demonstrate sound understanding of anatomy, physiology, diseases and pathological processes
• Seek to continuously develop knowledge and improve Clinical Coding practice
• Demonstrate ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
• Sound knowledge and understanding of health fund contracts.
• Commitment to professional development through quality improvement/activities and positively receiving constructive feedback
