Payroll and Accounts Officer

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Payroll and Accounts Officer to become an integral part of our Finance & Administration team. This full-time role is pivotal in managing the weekly end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for a diverse workforce. The successful candidate will also provide support across both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and purpose-driven team, while enhancing payroll operations within a supportive, high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities
Process weekly payroll, including onboarding new employees, terminations, and leave applications.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
Manage payroll queries and maintain highly confidential employee records.
Calculate workers' compensation, long service leave entitlements, and other employee benefits.
Review & process monthly Credit Card Expense Forms
Accounts Payable Process, Review, Pay & Reconcile
Accounts Receivable Process, Review & Reconcile
Monthly Superannuation Review, Reconcile, Process & Pay
Weekly PAYG Review, Reconcile, Process & Pay
Process weekly payroll journals
Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for
Provide support and training for staff on payroll systems and procedures.
Essential Criteria
Minimum of 3 years' experience in high-volume payroll processing, ideally managing pay runs for over 100 employees
Demonstrated hands-on experience with MYOB Payroll
Strong knowledge of awards, EBAs, taxation, superannuation, and payroll legislation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables)
Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills.
High-level interpersonal and communication abilities.
Australian work rights are required for this position
Desirable Criteria
Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping.
MYOB/NetSuite experience
