Mobile Crane Technician

WATM Crane Sales and Service is looking for experienced Mobile Crane Technicians from South Africa who are ready to relocate to Perth, Western Australia.

This is a full-time opportunity to join one of Western Australia’s established crane service businesses, working on leading mobile crane brands across our modern Perth workshop and customer sites.

For the successful candidate, WATM will provide employer-sponsored visa support, cover the approved visa costs and provide a one-way economy flight from South Africa to Perth.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing mobile cranes and associated lifting equipment.

• Diagnosing hydraulic, electrical,mechanical and diesel engine faults.

• Performing scheduled maintenance, inspections and major repairs.

• Responding to breakdowns and completing repairs at customer sites.

• Troubleshooting crane control systems, CAN bus systems, load moment indicators and safety systems.

• Repairing and replacing hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves, winches, engines, transmissions and other major components.

• Reading and interpreting hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams and technical manuals.

• Completing accurate service reports, inspection records and job documentation.

• Working safely and in accordance with Australian workplace health and safety requirements.

• Providing professional service and technical support to WATM customers.

To be considered, you must have:

• A recognised South African trade qualification, such as Diesel Mechanic, Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic, Auto Electrician or another relevant mechanical trade.

• Previous hands-on experience servicing, diagnosing and repairing mobile cranes.

• Experience with brands such as Grove, Liebherr, Tadano, Franna, Demag, Terex, Kato, SANY or similar equipment will be highly regarded.

• Strong hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and diagnostic skills.

• The ability to work independently and accurately diagnose complex faults.

• A valid driver’s licence.

• Good written and spoken English.

• A professional attitude, strong safety awareness and reliable work ethic.

• The ability to pass the required Australian trade skills assessment and English-language assessment.

• The ability to meet all Australian visa, medical, character and employment requirements.

Applicants without a recognised trade qualification or relevant mobile crane experience will not be considered.
