The role will assist to oversee and supervise farm operations including plantation, cultivation, harvest and packing. About Role: The role of Horticulture Supervisor is to oversee and supervise farm operations including plantation, cultivation, harvest and packing.
The Horticulture Supervisor is responsible for supervising farm hands; therefore, leadership skills are highly beneficial. Main Responsibilities: 1. Organise and supervise different cultivation teams.
2. Ensure staff have the required tools and equipment for scheduled work. 3. Manage and supervise the plantation and harvesting of the different crops at farm. 4. Organise and supervise bunch harvest and transportation for banana bunches.
5. Training of new staff as to required duties for their position. 6. Monitor staff rosters, hours, and performance, and report any staff grievances. 7. Monitor crops for pests and diseases.
8. Oversee the work of farming crews and suggest improvements and changes. 9. Inspect farming equipment, ensuring routine maintenance is carried out and getting repairs done when necessary. 10. Supervision, maintenance and regular monitoring of irrigation systems.
11. Ensure and enforce compliance with government regulations, farm biosecurity and OH&S. Summary of role requirements:
