About the role
Pacific Industrial Company (PIC) is a highly respected private enterprise and a recognised leader in Australia's steel fabrication and construction industry. We deliver specialised fabrication, construction, and project execution services across the mining, resources, oil and gas, and infrastructure sectors.
With over 55 years of industry experience, PIC has built a reputation for delivering complex, large-scale projects safely and successfully. Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced HR & Recruitment Team Lead to join our team based in Naval Base.
The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to step into a management team within a growing business and help shape our future plans. With a small team and fast-moving operation, this isn't a role where you sit back - it's hands-on, it's challenging and it rewards people who back themselves. You'll take responsibility for both the Human Resources and Recruitment functions across the business, working across workshop, metro and project-based operations.
For the right person, this offers a genuine path into a senior leadership role. If you want rapid learning and real career momentum, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor and develop the HR and Recruitment team to achieve business objectives.
Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract skilled blue and white-collar employees.
Oversee end-to-end recruitment, onboarding and mobilisation across multiple workshop and project-based roles.
Manage the recruitment and processing of visa candidates, including coordinating sponsorship requirements, compliance documentation and liaison with migration providers.
Manage labour hire agreements, onboarding processes, performance reviews and ongoing supplier relationships to ensure quality and value.
Partner with operational leaders to forecast workforce requirements and develop talent pipelines for future projects.
Provide expert advice on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary matters, investigations and grievances.
Interpret and apply Australian employment legislation, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and company policies.
Oversee workforce reporting, HR metrics and recruitment performance to support business decisions.
Coordinate employee performance reviews, training programs and skills matrix management.
Review and continuously improve HR policies, recruitment processes and systems to enhance operational efficiency.
About You
Proactive and solution focussed.
Hands on, able to lead the team and willing to work at the operational level.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior HR and recruitment leadership role.
Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end recruitment for high-volume blue-collar workforces.
Knowledge of employer-sponsored visas and the recruitment and onboarding of visa holders is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of Australian employment legislation, Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
Experience within construction, mining, fabrication or heavy industrial environments is highly regarded.
Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience using HRIS and recruitment systems.
Why Join PIC?
Join a respected industry leader delivering major projects across Western Australia.
Work in a supportive and collaborative environment where your ideas are valued.
Play a key role in shaping recruitment strategy and workforce growth.
Competitive remuneration package and genuine career development opportunities.
If you're an experienced HR and recruitment leader looking for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you. Join PIC and help build the workforce that delivers some of Western Australia's most significant industrial projects.
