The Role: 

• Manage a diverse portfolio of SME, larger group and audited clients across companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals and SMSFs 

• Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns and management accounting reports across varied entity structures 

• Prepare and review BAS, GST and simple to complex FBT obligations 

• Liaise directly with the ATO on client-related matters 

• Provide practical taxation, accounting and business advisory support to clients 

• Lead, mentor and supervise junior accountants while coordinating workflow with offshore support teams where applicable 

• Review work prepared by junior staff and maintain strong technical and quality standards 

• Prepare and deliver internal technical training sessions, client updates and alerts 

• Assist with advanced tax planning, business structuring and advisory projects 

• Identify business performance issues, key indicators and strategic improvement opportunities for clients 

About You: 

• 4+ years Australian public practice / business services experience 

• Relevant Accounting or Commerce degree (BCom / BBus or similar) 

• CA or CPA qualified 

• Strong technical capability across tax, compliance and business advisory 

• Experience managing client relationships and handling face-to-face interactions confidently 

• Proven ability to mentor, supervise or support junior staff development 

• Strong organisational capability with high attention to detail 

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and accounting systems capability 

• Professional, proactive and solutions-focused communication style 

• Commercial mindset with interest in broader advisory and strategic work
